NAACP AWARD RECIPIENT, EAGLE SCOUT, DEAD AT 84

Fred  Phelps, Sr. (November 13, 1929 – March 19, 2014) was accepted to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point but turned them down to fight injustice and for equal education for black students after the Supreme Court decision (Brown vs. Board Of Ed. Topeka, Kansas) ended school segregation. In 1954, Fred Phelps was the only lawyer to accept discrimination cases In Topeka, Kansas and received an award from the NAACP for his efforts.

Fred Phelps is survived by hundreds of family members who have inherited a warehouse full of colorful paints, signs and banners estimated to be worth over $100 dollars.

Phelps was found in his home hanging in a closet naked covered in Vasoline, a tire pump inserted into his rectum, and “Glee” blaring from the television.  The cause of death has yet to be determined.  It remains unclear how or when the body of Phelps will be disposed of.  His family will be protesting his death outside of their church and no one else will enter the church or even volunteer to help lay him to rest.

Phelps is no relation to hunky gay icon, famous Olympic gold medalist and stoner, Michael Phelps.  Although that would be cool.

* Fun Fact: he later found religion and became a vocal opponent of funerals, common decency, compassion and sanity.

UPDATE: His successor is Susanne Atanus (ãt-anus), who won the GOP Congressional Nomination in Illinois to fight the  tornadoes God sent to punish us for same-sex marriage.
